I was meandering through Twitter yesterday on a friend's page and found a link to his blog. Of course out of curiosity I skimmed a few entries. One in particular caught my attention; a detailed, heart-felt entry about a personal issue. It was humbling to hear a weakness in his own life. He always seems to carry himself with ease and it was a shocking yet humbling moment to read about his pain that is similar to a pain of mine. Obviously I'm not insinuating I want him or any other person to experience grief, anxiety, or any other moment of heartache, but the blatant fact of our simplified (regardless of our beliefs of our own complexities) lives is the existence of earthly agony, both physically and emotionally. The point I am progressing to is that we tend to view our own issues as cataclysmic products outside the scope of our peers' comprehension, yet they too have issues of their own that they also live with every day. I think we all, against the narcissistic behavior of human nature, could use a reminder of others' trials. To my Twitter friend, thank you. I needed the reminder.
